The tradition of teams from Singapore and Malaysia meeting to play in friendly but earnest rivalry dates back to 2002. Causeway Challenge evolved over the years to bigger and more wonderful events. See the whole history.

In 2025, the traditional format took place again in the charming seaport town of Malacca from Fri Oct 31 to Sun Nov 2.
